Is it ok to ask my neighbor if they are selling their daughter's car who died recently or should i wait?

my neighbor had a daughter who just died and i have given my condolences to them already. the daughter who died had a car left over but i don't know if it is morally right to walk over there and ask if it's ok to buy the car. i would feel like crap if i did that. does anyone have any ideas?
