How to makeup your eyes like arab beauty instead of look gothic?

My friend have white skin, dark hair and quite skinny. she like the makeup style of arab actresses such as nancy ajram, Claudia lynx or anabella hilal. so my friend use black eyeliner following the arab women. but when people seen her with eyeliner they find she looks gothic not the arabs. which she dosen't like it at all to look gothic. she wanted to makeup her face to look natural and elegrant like cleopatra not the gothic zombie.
