Do I still count as a jew if i was adopted by jewish parents?

According to Jewish law, at your Bar Mitzvah, you should've bee asked if you would like to remain a Jew. If you had answered yes, you are completely Jewish. I don't know if there is an exact procedure, but that's the basic idea.
